Maggie is a remarkable space—at once one hundred years in the past and still luxuriously accommodating in the present‍
Explore this stay
Cradled by the Rooiberg mountains, this 1836 cottage sits on a 2 600-hectare farm and biodiversity hotspot, with an abundance of succulents and fynbos, as well as being home to the Cape leopard, eagle owl and the highly endangered riverine rabbit – all within an hour of George Airport

The Lowdown

Sensitively restored to maintain its charming countryside character while updating the finishes to cater to modern requirements, Maggie is a remarkable space—at once one hundred years in the past and still luxuriously accommodating in the present

Sleeping Arrangements

Maggie sleeps up to 8 guests (with additional space for 2 children) in 4 individually decorated rooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with an annex with 2 single beds, while the remaining three bedrooms have queen-size beds. The master and pool bedrooms are en-suite, and the two remaining rooms share a bathroom with shower and freestanding bath

What To Expect

You’ll be welcomed by a spacious veranda and outdoor dining area, which leads into a formal living and dining room, spacious country kitchen (with laundry facilities) and onto the bedrooms. On warm summer days, take a dip in the eco-pool, walk one of the nearby hiking trails, or light up a fire and enjoy some world-class stargazing

The Art House Difference

Unpretentious and untamed, Maggie provides a rustic-luxe escape for the outdoorsy and those looking to tap out, allowing guests to explore the impossibly beautiful landscape. The interiors are filled with local art and design, as well as unusual pieces brought home from the owner’s many years spent travelling.
