Designed by Boyd Ferguson and Geordi de Sousa Costa of Cécile & Boyd (the same studio responsible for the award-winning interiors at Singita), the home channels a rustic-chic palette, with exposed timber beams, monastic stone floors and handwoven fabrics – the perfect foil for its impressive collection of classic and contemporary South African art.
Three en-suite bedrooms are tucked into quieter corners of the house, offering garden or sea views and an enveloping sense of calm. Filled with natural light and designed to generous proportions, each room becomes its own sanctuary. Furnished with design icons — Le Corbusier’s LC4, Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona chair — and tuned to the rhythm of the surrounding landscape, Niemeyer is a design lover’s dream and a quiet celebration of coastal living.
The home welcomes up to 10 guests – 6 adults and 4 children – with 5 bedrooms (3 of them en suite) designed to strike a careful balance between earthy comfort and mindful minimalism. Think artisan-crafted furniture pieces and layered linens set against a backdrop of whitewashed walls and neutral tones.
Not to be outdone by its designer pedigree, Oxalis boasts a treasure trove of South African art—from old masters, like Pierneef, right through to Walter Battiss and numerous up-and-coming contemporary names. A sense of charm and calming energy fills every inch of Oxalis, undoubtedly the result of the homeowner’s carefully considered approach to every space, which feels both deeply personal and warmly inviting.
