Meet Our Founder
Elana Brundyn’s career in the cultural industry spans more than 20 years. She has been instrumental in launching two of Africa’s most prominent museums, Zeitz MOCAA and Norval Foundation. Elana has contributed to the cultural ecosystem in Africa as a museum director, entrepreneur, consultant and advisor to corporate collections and clients, family and school collections while fundraising for art auctions and working as a commercial gallerist. Elana has a strong focus on philanthropic projects and events. Currently a Trustee: In Residence Foundation, Aspire Art Auctions, Lalela Projects and Stellenbosch Outdoor Sculpture Trust. Previously, Harvard Centre for African Studies Advisory Board, Trustee of the Gerard Sekoto Foundation, Norval Foundation and Zeitz MOCAA.
Meet Our CEO
Piet Smedy made the move to hospitality from publishing, where he served as editor in chief of Condé Nast House & Garden, actively working within the South African design scene to foster new talent, grow the industry’s footprint. He’s also served as features editor at GQ and content strategist at architectural firm SAOTA, as well as contributed to Condé Nast Traveller, Architectural Digest and Tatler.
