Countless stories have played out in this historic farmhouse. One of the largest in the area, it was designed to offer a generosity of space, a comforting shelter, and a restorative connection to nature that any family escape requires.
Explore this stay

Corseted by verdant forests, this restored Cape Victorian farmhouse overlooks the Liesbeek River on one side while mountain views dominate the other, a supremely serene space of rolling lawns and shady verandahs, light-filled rooms, and curious pieces of art and design from around the world.

The Lowdown

Countless stories have played out in this historic farmhouse. One of the largest in the area, it was designed to offer a generosity of space, a comforting shelter, and a restorative connection to nature that any family escape requires. Accessed through a pergola-shaded walkway, the farmhouse is surrounded by green lawns; it’s stately architecture speaking to its place in history.

Sleeping Arrangements

The home features four bedrooms—three on the ground floor and one upstairs on the first floor. Two of the bedrooms are en suite, while the other two share a bathroom. There is also an additional guest bathroom.

What To Expect

Through double-volumn sash windows, golden light illuminates the home’s many rooms: a library with bookshelf-lined walls, a gym with riverside views, easy-going living and dining rooms filled with oversized sofas and blankets, and, of course, a classic farmhouse kitchen with room for the whole family. Beside the pool, a timber pavillion houses the sauna and a fireplace with covered alfresco entertaining areas.

The Art House Difference

Located close to some of Cape Town’s most prestigious schools, Willow is the ideal choice for a family looking to call this space home for longer than a holiday break. The architectural legacy of Amani cannot be overstated. As one of the largest homes in the area, it started life in the 1890s as a classic Cape Victorian farmhouse until being faithfully reimagined in 2005 as a warm, welcoming family-friendly home.
