Bringing Victoriana into the modern age, Jacaranda strikes an eclectic balance between contemporary African art with classical European sensibilities. Situated at the foot of a breathtaking mountain range—and in peak wine territory—lush, enveloping nature is an ever-present element of this inside-outside retreat. Centered around a jungle-like patio, plunge pool, and garden, it’s a chic retreat for a slow, sensorial stay.
The Lowdown
A precious, jacaranda-lined avenue leads you through the imperial doors of a noteworthy architectural home bedecked in delicate filigree. This slice of history is thoughtfully contrasted with modern interiors that blend farmhouse charm with industrial power plays and off-kilter moments of artistic frivolity. The perfect retreat for lovers of vineyards and verdant views.
Sleeping Arrangements
Jacaranda offers three distinct bedrooms—welcoming up to 7 guests—with large four-poster beds, chandeliers, and a dynamic balance of contemporary, classical, European, and African art. The master bedroom, or Green Room, has a king-size bed, while the Silver Room features a queen-size bed. Jacaranda offers three ¾ beds for single sleepers, but arrangements can be made for a super-king bed plus a single bed in this room. There is a 1.5 bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom (the .5 refers to a glorious outdoor shower in view of a banana tree) and a guest bathroom featuring the Mona Lisa in shower curtain form.
What To Expect
Jacaranda is part homey escape, part chic Garden of Eden; pick homegrown fruits from the garden for breakfast, lounge around the glorious jungle-like pool, and enjoy the simple comfort of a home-cooked dinner.
